Disco Skating

Picture
The disco skating trend didn’t stop when nightclubs lost popularity. Then Americans welcomed the newest fad, roller disco. Dances were preformed in parks and arenas. Disco music pumped through speakers and earphones. Serious disco dancers wore stretchy, brightly colored satin pants and entered competitions in parks and roller rinks. The wheels were made plastic so people could skate faster and more smoothly. Just as Saturday Night Fever had started the craze for disco, the movie Roller Boogie glorified roller disco.
