Elizabeth Taylor is a well known Anglo-American actress. She was born on February 27, 1932 in London, on the north-west side of Hampstead. Elizabeth has one older brother who is three years older than her. Her mother was a previous actress who’s stage name was Sara Sothern, and her father was an art dealer. When world war two accrued, her parents decided to move to the United States to avoid the war as much as possible. Elizabeth’s mother took booth children, while her father continued to live in London, wrapping up the last of his art business. He went to America shortly after his wife and children arrived and went to go join them in Los Angeles, California. Elizabeth’s first movie was There’s One Born Every Minute, which she filmed at the age of nine, but it wasn’t until 1944 when her acting career really took off, when she was offered the role of Velvet Brown in the movie National Velvet. National Velvet is a story of a young girl who trains her horse for the Grand National. The Grand National is a huge horse race with tight turns and jumps.  She was about 12 when she was in this movie. Her character Velvet Brown would always think too much about one subject, as she once said, “I want it all quickly 'cause I don't want God to stop and think and wonder if I'm getting more than my share.”Then from this movie she started getting recognized, and filming more and more movies. Elizabeth is still alive today and is making many appearances.
