National Affairs

Picture
National Affairs was a scary thing at the time. The Vietnam War had split the nation in half, and made us wonder if America was even that strong. National disasters started as early as 1970 when four people were shot by the Ohio State Gaurd, for protesting against the Vietnam War. The Kent State Massacre made United States citizens question the "Home of the Free" and capitalistic society the govermnent has set up for us. Protesting was a huge thing, many college students and young people picked up those picket stakes and began to protest. Richard Nixon, one of our presidents at the time was involved in a scandal that led to his resignation, and changed the govermnent views of America. Women also began to protest when they wanted equal work rights which was then granted. National Affairs was intense in the 70s that anybody who lived at the time remembers the news being life changable.
