The Oil Crisis

Picture
Back in the day oil was very pricy for some people. Some say that the people who had oil had power and the people who don’t need it. In the early 70s, the US put an embargo on oil. The US claimed more than six percent of the world population just to try and save oil. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries raised the prices of oil by nearly two hundred percent. President Nixon had an idea to try and save oil. He tried to lower the speed limit to fifty miles per hour. Finally, the embargo was lifted after the US helped establish a cease-fire in the October war.
