Significance of the 70's

The 1970s consisted of many milestones of history. For one thing, the Apollo missions were largely accomplished during the 70s. The Apollo missions were made for astronauts to go to the moon, something Soviet Union didn’t even do. Technology took a leap, as Apple made its first computer and soon became a giant company today. The Vietnam War ended, a war that shook the nation, and it was the first war that United States didn’t win, and was one of the last major events of the Cold War. United States and Soviet Union began to negotiate on their arguments. USSR became more open to ideas which in only ten years led to the collapse of Soviet Union. Watergate shook the nation as our very own president resigned after stealing documents from the Democratic National Headquarters. Because of Apple’s first computer, because of the Apollo missions, because of the Vietnam War, our world has been shaped today.
