      There were many popular sports this decade. A famous Olympic boxing champion Joe Frazier was the World Boxing Association Champion. Tennis’s Jimmy Connor and Arthur Ashe competed against each other for the Wimbledon Title. Ashe won and became the first African American to win the title. Another tennis player was Billie Jean King who was the first women to win more than $100,000 in competition. She fought fore equality with men’s tennis. Billie challenged Bobby Riggs in a singles match and beat him. After that match, Billie Jean King gained respect for the male players
