Gerald Ford

      Gerald Ford was the 38th President of the United States. He was president from 1974 to 1976. He won the republican nomination to run for a next term, but lost the race to President Jimmy Carter. Gerald Ford became the president in 1974 because of former Presidents Nixon’s impeachment. In foreign affairs, Ford wanted to improve the Americans image after the collapse of Cambodia and South Vietnam. Ford says, “I assume the Presidency under extraordinary circumstances…. this is an hour of history that troubles our minds and hurts our hearts.” Gerald Ford was a good president, who wanted to mend our country after the tragic Vietnam War.
