Jimmy Carter



                Jimmy Carter was the 39th president of the United States, and wanted to make the Government, “competent and compassionate.” Carter served from 1977 to 1981, and before he was president Carter served two terms as a Georgian State Senator, and one as Governors of Georgia. Carter before was also a peanut farmer and naval officer. When Carter was president he created two new cabinet departments: the Department of Energy and the Department of Education. The Department of Energy was established to reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil and developing energy efficient technologies for buildings, homes, transportation, power systems and industry. The Departments of Education was made so that each child, teen, or adult would receive equal education, like the rest of the world.
