The Jackson Five
The Jackson Five is a famous family music group from Gary, Indiana. R&B, Soul, Pop, and Disco were the main genres that the Jackson five would sing. Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael formed their group after performing in an early incarnation called The Jackson Brothers. The Jackson Brothers were the three older brothers in the Jackson family. 1966 was when the Jackson 5 started their group, but it wasn’t till 1970, during their six and a half-year Motown tenure, that they became insanely popular. They were the first black teen group to appeal to both white and black listeners. Sadly in 1979 The Jackson 5 broke up when Michael Jackson decided to go solo. Then in 2009 Michael Jackson passed away, leaving his family and many fans sad, and depressed. Before he passed away he was working on what he said to be, “The best concert of the century.” Sadly no one got to see this concert, but they did make a documentary of him practicing, and the way that they prepared for the concert.
