World Disasters

         World disasters were a big thing in the 70s. The Vietnam War, the longest war in American history had taken the lives of 58,000 soldiers. In South East Asia communism was taking hold, and United States promised not to do anything about it. The war in the Middle East became a global disaster when 11 Israeli athletes were killed by Arabs in the 1972 Munich Games. Israel showed its strengh in 1973 when the small country defeated the Arab army who wanted to take them over. The Jonestown Tragedy was a huge calamity when a reverend killed 900 people along with a senater, in Guyana who trusted him as a leader. The Marshall Plane crash was a real heartbreak when an entire football team tragically died in a plane crash. Events in the 70s had made a global impact that had an effect on many peoples lives.
